Ayawaso East MP Mahama Naser Toure Dies After Brief Illness
The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has died after a brief illness at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Toure, who served four consecutive terms in Parliament, was an influential legislator and held several responsibilities, including Vice Chairmanship of the Energy Committee. He was also a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
Following his death, his remains have been conveyed to his residence at Spintex, where family members are meeting to finalize funeral arrangements in line with Islamic rites. A steady stream of sympathizers has since visited the residence to mourn and celebrate his service to Ayawaso East and the country.
The Janazah prayer for the late MP is scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., after which he will be buried in accordance with Muslim tradition.
