Police Arrest Three for Brazen Robbery Attack in Western Region

The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended three suspects in connection with a daring robbery attack that occurred at Jukwa near Afransie in the Western Region. The incident took place on July 15, 2025, when a Toyota Hilux pickup carrying gold concentrate from a mining site to Wassa Akropong was waylaid by armed robbers.

According to eyewitnesses, the robbers attacked the vehicle, overpowering the occupants, including the driver, Kofi Gyamfi, and a security guard, Bashiru. The thieves made off with the valuable gold concentrate, leaving the victims shaken.

Thanks to prompt police action, one of the suspects, Foster Peprah, a small-scale miner, was arrested at the scene of the crime. Further investigations led to the arrest of Bashiru, who was hiding in Wassa Gyedua. Both suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

Police are still on the hunt for the third suspect, Isaac, who is believed to have masterminded the robbery. Authorities are working tirelessly to track him down and bring him to justice.

The swift response by the police has been commended by residents in the area, who are relieved that the suspects are facing justice. The incident highlights the need for increased security measures in the region to prevent such attacks in the future.

The police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the fleeing suspect to come forward and assist with the investigation.
