3 Teenagers Arrested for Robbery in Ashanti Region

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three teenagers in connection with a robbery incident that occurred yesterday, July 1, 2025, in the Asokore Mampong District of the Ashanti Region. The suspects,identified as Mamud Issah, 16, Samuel Takyi, 17, and Alhassan Abubakar, 16, were apprehended by members of the Boubai neighborhood watch committee and police.



Incident Details
According to reports, the victim, name withheld, was walking towards the Boubai roundabout when six young men on two unregistered motorbikes attacked her, slashing her right hand with a cutlass and making off with her brown handbag containing two mobile phones, cash, and other personal effects.
Exhibits Recovered
The suspects were arrested with some exhibits, including:
- The complainant’s brown handbag
- Two mobile phones (iPhone 12 Pro and itel)
- An Apple Watch
- Nine other mobile phones
- Two cutlasses

Investigation Ongoing
The suspects are currently in police custody, and efforts are being made to arrest the other suspects involved in the robbery. The police are working to gather more evidence and ensure justice is served.

The swift action by the Boubai neighborhood watch committee and the police has brought relief to the victim and the community. The police have assured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
