NIB Boss Dismisses Accusations of Land Surrender and Collusion
In a strong rebuttal to allegations made by Mr. Martin Kpebu, a member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, Nana Attobrah Quaicoe, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), has categorically denied claims of engaging in any form of collusion regarding state land.
The controversy erupted following statements made by Kpebu during a recent appearance on TV3’s “Keypoints,” where he suggested that Quaicoe had agreed to surrender a parcel of government land in exchange for the ORAL Committee’s silence on further actions against him. These claims have since been circulated by various media outlets, prompting a swift and firm response from Quaicoe’s legal counsel.
In a statement issued on behalf of the NIB Director-General, Saviour Quarcoo Kudze emphasized that the allegations are “contrived, false, and without any basis.” The statement clarified that Quaicoe has had no contact or engagement with any member of the ORAL Committee, including Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, regarding matters of government land.
Furthermore, Kudze asserted that Quaicoe does not possess any illegally-acquired government land, directly refuting the accusations that have been made public. He urged the public to disregard the misleading statements, which he described as an attempt to tarnish Quaicoe’s reputation.
The statement concluded with a call for Kpebu to retract his statements, warning that failure to do so may result in legal action to protect Quaicoe’s name and rights.
As the situation develops, the NIB and its Director-General remain steadfast in their commitment to transparency and integrity, emphasizing the importance of factual reporting in the media landscape. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant against misinformation that could undermine the credibility of public officials.
