Allegations against IGP False: Accusers caught lying – Parliamentary Probe

A parliamentary investigation has vindicated the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of allegations of wrongdoing, uncovering instead a web of deceit and conspiracy by his accusers.

Superintendents Gyebi and Asare, who leveled the accusations, were caught lying under oath, contradicting their earlier testimonies. The probe revealed a second audio recording, provided by Chief Bugri Naabu, which exposed the conspiracy to remove the IGP for partisan reasons.

The investigation found that the accusations were politically motivated, unprofessional, and contrary to police regulations. The actions of the accusers, including COP Mensah, were deemed contemptuous of Parliament, and the matter has been referred to the Privileges Committee for further action.

The probe’s findings have raised concerns about the integrity of the accusations and the potential undermining of Ghana’s democracy. The IGP has been cleared of any wrongdoing, and the matter is seen as a test of the country’s commitment to truth and accountability.
