The Ghana Police Service has issued a statement today, assuring the general public that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure peace and security during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries, scheduled to take place tomorrow, November 4th.

In their statement, the Police Service highlighted the deployment of sufficient personnel across the country to provide security for the elections. This move aims to maintain law and order and guarantee the safety of all participants.

As an additional layer of security, Police body-worn cameras will also be deployed at all voting centers. This measure will help monitor activities and ensure transparency throughout the voting process.

To ensure effective coordination and collaboration, the Police Service has conducted several stakeholder engagements. These engagements involved the Electoral Commission, the NPP Presidential Election Committee, and representatives of the Flagbearer hopefuls. The aim was to establish a unified approach and address any concerns regarding security and the smooth conduct of the primaries.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, emphasized the commitment of the Police Service to work closely with all stakeholders involved. Their objective is to guarantee peace, security, law, and order during the election.

The Police Service calls on the general public to cooperate with security personnel and follow all electoral rules and regulations. They also encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities or incidents to the nearest police station or through the designated helpline.

With these security measures in place, Ghanaians can have confidence in the safety and integrity of the NPP presidential primaries. The Police Service remains dedicated to ensuring a peaceful and successful electoral process.
