NPP’s Nii Noi Arrested in US for Stabbing Wife

A former parliamentary aspirant of Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Valentino Nortey, has been taken into custody in the United States following an alleged violent domestic incident.

Reports from US-based outlet abc27.com indicate that Nortey was arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He is alleged to have attacked a woman during a domestic dispute.

Law enforcement authorities have charged Nortey with attempted homicide, possession of a weapon with the intent to commit a crime, and interference with evidence. Court records from the Dauphin County Prison show that he was remanded in custody after a court appearance, with bail refused.

He is expected to return to court on January 26, 2026, for the commencement of a preliminary hearing.

Police officials confirmed that the female victim was rushed to a medical facility after the incident and is currently receiving treatment in stable condition.

Valentino Nortey was the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle in the 2024 general elections but was unsuccessful, losing the seat to Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He secured the NPP ticket after emerging victorious over Philip Kojo Addo Addison and Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah during the party’s internal primaries.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing as the case proceeds through the US legal system.
