1 Dead, 3 Injured in Kibi – Owura Twum Road Accident
OWURA TWUM, Eastern Region – One person has died and three others sustained injuries following a road accident at Owura Twum, off the Kibi–Suhum Road, on Monday, January 12, 2026.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to the crash at 0943 hours. A seven-member rescue team, led by ASTNO Kissiedu, arrived at the scene at 1015 hours and recovered the body of a female passenger trapped in an Opel Vectra saloon car (GT 8521-N).

The remaining three victims, two females and one male, were transported to Kibi Government Hospital for medical treatment. Eyewitnesses reported that the accident occurred after the vehicle’s rear tyre burst, causing it to somersault and land upside down in a bush.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the Police for preservation and further investigations. The vehicle sustained partial damage, and firefighters cleared the scene and restored traffic by 1128 hours.
The GNFS has reminded drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good condition to prevent similar accidents.
