Woman Arrested for Setting Ex-Boyfriend’s Property Ablaze and Stabbing Him
A 29-year-old woman, Augustina Adoma, has been arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command for allegedly setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s personal belongings and stabbing him during a confrontation at Race Course, Sowutuom.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred on June 26, 2025, when Adoma visited her ex-boyfriend, Emmanuel Otabil, a 30-year-old driver, at his residence. Upon seeing Otabil with another woman, Adoma allegedly poured a bucket of water on them and took Otabil’s Samsung mobile phone.
Later that day, Adoma reportedly returned to Otabil’s residence and set fire to several items, including a mattress, carpet, blankets, and bedsheets. When Otabil confronted her about the incident and demanded the return of his phone, Adoma allegedly stabbed him in the chest with a knife belonging to an orange seller.
Otabil was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery at the University of Ghana Medical Centre. He is currently responding to treatment.
The police retrieved Otabil’s phone from Adoma, who was arrested at Tesano Police Station. The case remains under investigation.
The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing the importance of resolving grievances peacefully through proper channels.
