IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno Orders Investigation into Alleged GHc400,000 MoMo Withdrawal by Kibi Police

The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has instructed a full-scale investigation into allegations that some police officers stationed at Kibi were involved in the unauthorized withdrawal of GH¢400,000 from the mobile money account of a local agent.

The directive follows the circulation of a viral video on social media in which the claims were made. In response, the Police Chief tasked the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to thoroughly examine the matter and determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service indicated that the mobile money agent who reported the incident has been reached by investigators and is cooperating with authorities as they work to establish the facts.

The Service assured the public that the inquiry will be carried out in a professional and transparent manner. It further noted that findings from the investigation will be made public once the process is concluded.
