Ghana Embassy in Doha Issues Urgent Safety Alert Amid Rising Tensions

The Embassy of Ghana in Doha has called on Ghanaian nationals residing in Qatar to immediately remain indoors as security concerns escalate in the region.

In a statement dated February 28, 2026, the diplomatic mission warned of a missile incident that reportedly affected parts of Doha, prompting heightened precautionary measures. The Embassy advised citizens to depend strictly on verified and official communication channels for accurate information and updates.

Ghanaians have been strongly cautioned to avoid military installations and other sensitive locations, limit movement, and refrain from gathering in crowded public spaces. The advisory emphasised the importance of reducing unnecessary exposure while authorities assess the evolving situation.

Residents were also encouraged to prepare for possible disruptions by keeping essential items such as medication, food supplies, and other necessities within easy reach.

The Embassy assured the Ghanaian community that it continues to monitor developments closely and will provide further guidance as the situation unfolds.
