NPP Holds Post-Election Thanksgiving Service, Bawumia Calls for Unity and Healing
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a post-election thanksgiving service at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra, calling for unity and healing within the party and the nation.
In his remarks, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, urged party members to forgive each other for any unpalatable things said during the election cycle and to focus on rebuilding the party for the 2028 elections.
“We have more that binds us together than what we differ on,” Dr. Bawumia said. “Let us deepen our concentration on what we have in common and put less emphasis on what we differ on.”
Dr. Bawumia also appealed to the government to lower the temperature, heal the nation, and govern in a way that reassures every Ghanaian that they are safe, respected, and valued, regardless of how they voted.
The service was attended by party officials, members of parliament, and other stakeholders, who pledged their commitment to working together to build a stronger party and nation.
Dr. Bawumia announced plans for a thank-you tour and the re-organization of the party’s policy structures to finetune and market alternative policy proposals to Ghanaians.
The event ended with a call for unity, discipline, and hard work to win back the trust and love of the Ghanaian people.
