Two Additional Suspects Picked Up in Adabraka Jewellery Heist as Police Seize Weapons

Police have intensified investigations into the recent jewellery shop robbery at Adabraka with the arrest of two more individuals believed to be connected to the crime.

The latest arrests were carried out by operatives from the Special Operations unit working under the Inspector-General of Police. The suspects, Hamza Agerego, popularly called Nene Bawku or Lambert, and Alhassan Elliasu, also known as Arab Man, were apprehended on January 7, 2026, at different locations in Ashaiman.

According to police sources, Hamza Agerego was initially picked up and held at the Katamanso District Police Headquarters as part of ongoing inquiries into the robbery. Further intelligence-led operations later led officers to Ashaiman, where Alhassan Elliasu was tracked down and arrested at his hideout.

A subsequent search conducted at the location uncovered a cache of weapons and other items. These included two pump-action shotguns, 43 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 239 BB cartridges, four bullet-resistant vests, a pair of black boots, a black face covering, two cutlasses, several mobile phones—including Samsung devices and an iPhone 13—a wristwatch, and a CCTV monitor.

The two suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. Police say arrangements are underway to arraign them before court, where they are expected to answer to charges related to the robbery. Authorities have assured the public of their commitment to pursuing all individuals linked to the incident and ensuring they face justice.
