Police Nab 7 Notorious Highway Robbers in Accra and Eastern Regions
The Accra Regional Police Command, in collaboration with the Eastern Regional Police Command, has arrested seven members of a notorious highway robbery syndicate believed to be responsible for a series of violent robberies across parts of Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti Regions.

The suspects, armed with firearms, had attacked a residence at Peduase, Aburi, on November 29, 2025, robbing occupants of mobile phones, jewelry, and cash. Following intelligence-led investigations, police arrested Kofi Ishmael, 30, on January 6, 2026, at Avenor, Accra. Ishmael admitted his involvement and identified Kwame Bediako, alias Star Boy, as the ringleader.

The police investigations have linked the suspects to several previous robbery cases, including attacks on market women, motorists, and a fatal robbery incident in which a driver lost his life. The Regional Police Command assures the public of its commitment to dealing decisively with criminal activities
