IGP Rewards 30 Officers for Outstanding Crime-Fighting Efforts

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted 30 police officers in recognition of their exceptional performance during recent security operations in the Ashanti Region.

The promotions follow two major successes: the interception of 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition at the Kantanso–Asankare Police Barrier and the dismantling of an armed robbery network along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta stretch during the Christmas period.

At Kantanso–Asankare, officers uncovered the ammunition concealed in a bus, along with other security-related items hidden under the driver’s seat. Their alertness and professionalism were credited with preventing the weapons from reaching criminal elements.

In addition, 20 officers from the Intelligence units of the Ashanti and Ashanti South Regional Police Commands were promoted for intelligence-led operations that led to the recovery of firearms and ammunition, disrupted robbery activities, and thwarted planned attacks on commuters in Manso Nkwanta, Antoakrom, and nearby communities.

Commending the officers, the IGP and the Police Management Board praised their courage, vigilance, and dedication to duty. The IGP encouraged all personnel to uphold high professional standards, assuring that the Police Administration remains committed to recognizing and rewarding excellence in service.
