Two Women Arrested After Alleged Brutal Assault on 12-Year-Old Girl in Accra

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two women over the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl at the La Roman JHS area on December 30, 2025.

The case was reported by the victim’s mother, who visited the police with her daughter, showing visible signs of assault. Preliminary investigations indicate the incident followed a disagreement between the girl and a seven-year-old boy related to the suspects. The suspects allegedly went to the victim’s home, took her to their residence, and assaulted her.

The two suspects, Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25, were arrested on December 31, 2025, and are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. A third suspect, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo, 49, reportedly travelled to the Volta Region and is being sought by police.

The arrested suspects will be arraigned before court on Monday, January 5, 2025. Police have cautioned the public against using violence to resolve disputes, especially those involving children, and urged the use of lawful channels to address grievances.
