Pastor Crushed to Death by Falling Water Tank in Western Region
A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in Amantin, Western Region, resulting in the death of a pastor. James Tawiah, a pastor of the Deeper Life Church, died instantly after a 350-liter water storage tank collapsed onto his vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, Pastor Tawiah was driving to Manso to minister to a congregation when his vehicle stalled while ascending a hill. The car rolled backward and rammed into a structure supporting the water tank. In an attempt to maneuver the vehicle, the pastor mistakenly left the gear in reverse, causing the car to accelerate backward at high speed and strike the base of the tank stand, dislodging the tank.

The impact of the falling tank crushed Pastor Tawiah’s vehicle, killing him instantly. The community is in shock and sorrow, and his body has been conveyed to the Tarkwa mortuary. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring that structures and objects are securely installed and maintained to prevent such accidents. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and congregation of Pastor Tawiah during this difficult time
