David Tamakloe elected PRINPAG president, pledges empowerment, ad growth, visibility and integrity

David Tamakloe has been elected president of the Private Newspapers and Online Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), winning 86 votes in the Association’s National Executive Committee elections held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The Electoral Commission of Ghana supervised the poll.

Accepting the mandate, Tamakloe thanked members for their warm support and set out a four‑point agenda for his presidency: empowerment, advertisement growth, visibility and integrity. He said he will “value and appreciate the contribution of every member,” work to secure fair deals and expanded advertising opportunities, raise the profile of members by showcasing their work, and strengthen ethical standards across the Association.

“Together, let’s build a PRINPAG that truly delivers,” Tamakloe urged, calling on members to rally behind his vision for a stronger and more vibrant association.

Election committee statement, call for unity

The PRINPAG Election Committee expressed gratitude to members for their participation and patience and thanked the Electoral Commission for its oversight. Committee Chair Sir Benedict Asorrow said the exercise was conducted “in a free, fair, and transparent manner” and praised the peaceful conduct of voters as indicative of the Association’s maturity.

The committee also thanked the outgoing national executive for its service and urged all members to support the newly elected officers to help advance PRINPAG’s interests and strengthen the media sector.
