Former Yilo Krobo MCE Slams Abronye DC, Calls for Disciplinary Action
A Former MCE for the Yilo Krobo Municipality and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sounded the alarm, urging the party’s national executives to rein in Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
Eric Tetteh, former Municipal Chief Executive of Yilo Krobo, argues that Abronye’s divisive rhetoric and inflammatory remarks are tearing the party apart.

Concerns Over Party Unity
Tetteh, who has served the NPP faithfully for over two decades, expresses concern that Abronye’s behavior betrays the party’s core values of discipline, maturity, and integrity. He notes that Abronye’s comments have sparked heated debates, alienating potential allies and damaging the party’s image.
Abronye’s Track Record
The criticisms come on the back of Abronye’s contentious performance as Bono Regional Chairman, where the NPP lost almost all its seats in the region. Tetteh questions Abronye’s leadership abilities, citing his divisive remarks and lack of results.
Recent Controversies
Abronye has been embroiled in several controversies, including allegations of corruption against President John Mahama, which led to an investigation by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB). The NIB summoned Abronye to provide evidence supporting his claims of GHâµ550 million hoarding by the former president.
Call to Action
Tetteh respectfully calls on the NPP’s national executives to take immediate action, urging them to hold Abronye accountable for his actions. He emphasizes the need to restore the party’s values of respect, responsibility, and results, warning that failure to do so could undermine the party’s chances in future elections.
Party’s Response
The NPP has previously referred Abronye to its disciplinary committee for breaching party directives by making unguarded public comments. The party’s leadership will likely face scrutiny over its handling of the situation, with some questioning whether they can effectively address internal conflicts and maintain party unity.
