Police Crackdown on 9 Notorious Armed Robbery Suspects in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has successfully arrested several suspects involved in a series of violent residential robberies in parts of the Ashanti Region. The operation, which was intelligence-led, resulted in the recovery of stolen items and weapons, including guns, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, wristwatches, and television sets.

- Joseph Oppong, alias Joe, 30 years
- Bernard Owusu Ansah, alias Hot Boy, 27 years

- James Asare Boateng, 26
- Emmanuel Asiedu, 27
- Maxwell Gyimah, 30
- Kelvin Adomako, alias Chemicals, 29
- Daniel Dwumor, 46









Recovered Items
- Multiple laptops, tablets, and mobile phones
- Wristwatches, television sets, WiFi routers
- Three vehicles (Kia Morning and two Toyota Corollas)
- Face masks used during operations
- Taurus pistol with 4 rounds of 9mm ammunition
- NP Cal 9x19mm pistol
- Jojeff pump-action shotgun with 33 rounds of ammunition
- Bruni Mod 92 Auto Cal 8mm pistol
- Ricol 15-0924 pump-action gun
- Single-barrel shotgun
- Foocio Cal 4.5mm pistol











One suspect was fatally shot during an exchange of fire with police, while another suspect, Yahaya Nuhu, remains at large and is being actively pursued. The police commend the public for their cooperation and reassure residents of their commitment to maintaining law and order.
Investigation and Prosecution
The suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned before court shortly. The police are working to gather more evidence and ensure justice is served. The Ashanti Regional Police Command’s swift action has brought relief to residents in affected areas, including Abuakwa, Tanoso, Apatrapa, Dechembuoso, Appiadu, and surrounding areas
