Promasidor Supports NHIA Market Durbar

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has taken its healthcare awareness campaign to the Malamata Market in the Ayawaso District of the Greater Accra Region. The Provider and Client Relations (PCR) unit of the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the NHIA organized a community durbar to sensitize traders and other members of the public on the Benefit Package, rights and responsibilities of members, and how to use the NHIA digital platform – MyNHIS App and short code *929#.

Boosting Active Membership
The exercise, led by the Deputy Director of PCR, Hamdiya Amadu Yakubu, is in line with the aim of the NHIA Chief Executive, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, to boost active membership of the Scheme towards the delivery of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030. Ms. Amadu Yakubu emphasized that Dr. Bampoe seeks to boost active membership by pursuing pragmatic measures to enhance member experience at health facilities, including clamping down on illegal charges.

Promasidor’s Support
In a show of corporate social responsibility, Promasidor Ghana Limited, a leading food manufacturing company, partnered with the NHIA as the main sponsor. The company supported the Durbar with a generous donation of its products, including Cowbell Milk, which added a vibrant touch to the program. The team also distributed products to members of the Scheme who had their cards with them, encouraging members and prospective members to register or renew their membership.

Interactive Engagement
The NHIA team adopted an interactive and engaging approach to educate the traders on the Scheme’s benefits and importance of registration. Through informative sessions and open dialogue, the team addressed common concerns and questions about the Scheme, encouraging attendees to register and renew their NHIS membership.

Commitment to Expanding Access to Healthcare
The NHIA remains committed to expanding access to quality healthcare through outreach initiatives, ensuring that every Ghanaian is informed and empowered to benefit from the NHIS. The theme of the engagement, “Bringing Healthcare Closer: Understanding the NHIS and Its Benefits,” underscores the Authority’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible to all.
