PRINPAG Congratulates New Heads of Government Communications
The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has extended its warmest congratulations to Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Shamima Muslim on their appointments as Minister of State responsible for Government Communications and Deputy Government Spokesperson, respectively.
PRINPAG expressed confidence in the duo’s ability to leverage their vast experience in addressing the challenges facing Ghana’s media landscape. Their leadership is expected to foster transparency, accountability, and effective engagement with journalists.
As an association representing the interests of newspapers and online news publishers across Ghana, PRINPAG is committed to working closely with the Government Communications team to enhance the welfare and safety of journalists. The association urged Hon. Kwakye Ofosu and Madam Shamima to champion media-friendly policies, welcome constructive criticisms, and uphold the principles of press freedom.
PRINPAG also called on the government to ensure its communication team remains accessible, responsive, and collaborative in addressing challenges facing the media industry. The association hopes to see initiatives supporting capacity building for journalists, enhancing access to information, and creating opportunities for media practitioners to thrive in a free and fair environment.
In a statement signed by PRINPAG’s President, Andrew Edwin Arthur, and Executive Secretary, Jeorge Wilson Kingson, the association reiterated its commitment to promoting a free, responsible, and vibrant media in Ghana.
