NDC Unveils Ambitious Infrastructure Development Plan

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outlined its comprehensive infrastructure development policy, dubbed the “BIG PUSH,” aimed at transforming Ghana’s economy and improving the lives of citizens. Hon. Kwame Agbodza presented the plan at the party’s second edition of the 2024 manifesto press briefing.

Key Highlights:

  • A $10 billion accelerated infrastructure plan to drive job creation and complete abandoned projects
  • Revamping the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) for strategic self-financing projects
  • Water supply system expansion and rehabilitation
  • Addressing the Bagre Dam spillage disaster
  • Developing multi-purpose dams for all-year-round agriculture
  • Rail line development and expansion
  • Urban inner-city light rail systems
  • Major road corridors development and improvement

NDC’s Track Record:

The NDC boasts an unmatched track record in infrastructure development, with President Mahama’s previous administration leaving a lasting legacy in transportation, energy, water, housing, and telecommunications.

Contrasting with the Current Government:

The NDC criticized the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government’s handling of infrastructure projects, citing inflated costs, abandoned projects, and a lack of transparency.

Conclusion:

A vote for President Mahama and the NDC is a vote for transformational infrastructure development, ensuring efficient transportation, cutting-edge ICT connectivity, and improved social services delivery.
