NDC Cries over Atta Akyea’s Attacks on John Mahama
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly condemned the unsubstantiated and baseless remarks made by Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea, MP for Abuakwa South Constituency, against former President John Dramani Mahama.
During a mini-rally on August 28, 2024, at Akyem Asafo, Atta Akyea recklessly alleged that Mahama is a drunkard and an alcoholic. The NDC described this as a desperate attempt to tarnish Mahama’s reputation and undermine the decency of political discourse.
The party emphasized that Mahama is a distinguished statesman with a proven track record in public service and enduring leadership qualities. They demanded an immediate retraction and apology from Atta Akyea, warning that failure to do so would prompt the NDC to explore all available avenues to defend Mahama’s integrity and reputation.
The NDC reaffirmed its commitment to a campaign focused on ideas and solutions, urging the NPP leadership to rein in their members and promote a clean and respectful campaign that addresses the concerns of the Ghanaian electorate.
