Stop lying about ‘dumsor’, Dr. Omane Boamah Slams Government Over
Accra, Ghana – Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former Communications Minister, has lambasted the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government for allegedly misleading Ghanaians about the erratic power supply, commonly known as ‘dumsor’.
In a scathing social media post on Sunday, Dr. Boamah accused Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of deceit, stating, “Your deceitful and incompetent Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government cannot even be truthful about Dumsor!”
Dr. Boamah’s criticism comes after the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) clarified that the transformers are not the root cause of the power outages that Ghanaians are currently experiencing. This contradicts the government’s earlier claims that the transformers were the main cause of the power crisis.
Dr. Boamah’s post has sparked a heated debate, with many Ghanaians expressing their frustration and disappointment with the government’s handling of the power crisis. The opposition NDC has also seized on the issue, accusing the government of incompetence and dishonesty.
The government has yet to respond to Dr. Boamah’s allegations, but the controversy is expected to continue in the coming days.
