Guinness World Record Attempt: The Ghana Chefs Association appoints Failatu Razak as Executive Chef

On January 5, 2024, marks the fifth day since Failatu Abdul Razak of Ghana commenced her Cook-A-Thon at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, striving to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon set by Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe.

In support of Failatu’s endeavor, the Ghana Chefs Association visited the venue to rally behind her in her quest to surpass Dorcus Mirembe’s record, affectionately known as Mama D.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, Chef Isaac expressed their presence as a show of support for Failatu, emphasizing their intention to recognize her as the Executive Chef in Ghana. He stated, “We are here to show our support, honor her, and confer on her the title of Executive Chef in Ghana.”

Chef Isaac highlighted that this gesture aims to inspire other chefs to pursue and achieve similar accolades, enhancing the reputation of both the Association and Ghana.

The Ghana Chefs Association, also a member of the World Chefs Society, actively engages in global competitions, promoting Ghana’s culinary excellence worldwide. As a token of appreciation, the Association presented Failatu with a citation signed by the president, congratulating her, and a personalized apparel.

The citation conveyed, “The Ghana Chefs Association congratulates and recognizes your official attempt to break the World Guinness Record for Cook-A-Thon. We solidly stand behind you, acknowledging your outstanding contribution to promoting Ghana’s hospitality industry. We hereby confer upon you the title ‘Executive Chef,’ the highest rank in our profession. You are now Executive Chef Failatu Abdul Razak.”
