The Ga Mantse delegation, in a recent video release, has officially notified Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, the Akwamumanhene, about the final funeral rites of the late Ga Manye. During this significant visit, the Ga linguist took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of residents in Accra and the Ga state remaining indoors during the funeral proceedings.

With deep respect and reverence for the traditions and customs surrounding the funeral rites, the Ga linguist urged everyone to adhere to the request of staying indoors by 6pm on both October 24th and October 25th. This plea for unity and respect is essential to honor the memory of Ga Manye and support the grieving family during this solemn occasion.

The linguist further cautioned against tempting fate during this sensitive period, urging the community to refrain from engaging in activities that could disrupt the peaceful proceedings. By staying indoors and avoiding unnecessary risks, residents can demonstrate their solidarity and respect for Ga Manye and her family.

The Ga Mantse delegation’s visit and their call for residents to remain indoors during the funeral rites underscore the significance of this event in the Ga community. It serves as a reminder of the deep respect and reverence held for Ga Manye and emphasizes the importance of honoring her memory in a dignified manner.

In addition to the call for residents to stay indoors, important details regarding the funeral ceremonies were shared in the video. The funeral is scheduled to take place from October 15th to October 30th, with a ban on funeral and noise making activities implemented throughout the Ga State. On October 23rd, the main funeral ceremonies will commence, including the transportation of the Queen from her riverside home for ritualistic purposes.

From October 26th to October 28th, there will be a temporary halt in buying and selling activities, with all shops, including those selling Ga kenkey, fish, and other commodities, being closed. However, hospitals and pharmacies will remain operational during this period to ensure essential services are available to the community.

The culmination of the funeral will occur on October 28th, when Naa Dedei Omaedru III, the revered mother, will be laid to rest. All necessary documentation has been prepared and will be delivered to Nana by the linguist, symbolizing the significance and solemnity of this event.

The Ga community is urged to honor these instructions and participate in the funeral ceremonies with reverence and dignity. Let us come together in unity, respecting the traditions and customs that have shaped the Ga culture for generations. May the memory of Ga Manye be forever cherished, and may her spirit guide and protect the Ga community during this period of mourning
