Two NDC Members Arrested for Double Voter Registration

NSAWAM-ADOAGYIRI, GHANA – In a shocking turn of events, two individuals believed to be sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been arrested for engaging in double voter registration. Hodanou Kwesi and Gideon Odoi were apprehended by the Ghana Police at the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Electoral Commission (EC) Center while attempting to register, despite having already done so previously.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the Electoral Commission noticed the irregularity during the biometric/bio data collection stage of the registration process. It was discovered that both individuals had already registered, prompting the EC to invite the police to apprehend them for this criminal offense.

The suspects, now identified as Hodanou Kwesi and Gideon Odoi, have been taken to the Nsawam Police Station for further investigation. King George, the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Director of Elections in charge of the registration, confirmed the arrests and stated that the individuals would be prosecuted accordingly.

King George emphasized that he had repeatedly cautioned individuals in the registration queue against attempting to register multiple times if they had already done so. The registration process is intended for individuals who have reached the age of 18 or above and have not previously registered. The Municipal Director of Elections also revealed that the two suspects had registered in the Volta region, with their bio-data already being in the system.

In a surprising twist, the suspects later confessed that they had been brought to the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency by an individual from the Volta region, who urged them to register again.

The Metro Lens Newspaper is closely monitoring the progress of the investigation and will provide updates as the situation unfolds.
