In an exclusive interview with The Metro Lens Newspaper, Annoh-Dompreh urged delegates to vote for Bawumia with an overwhelming ninety percent (90%) majority, aiming to silence critics who have been casting aspersions on the Vice President.
Annoh-Dompreh, a staunch supporter of Dr. Bawumia, expressed his unwavering confidence in the Vice President’s leadership abilities. He emphasized that a resounding victory for Bawumia would send a strong message to those who have been doubting his capabilities and would serve as a fitting response to the critics who have been attempting to tarnish his reputation. The MP appealed to all supporters of Alan Kyeremateng, who was also a Presidential Candidate Aspirant, to unite behind Bawumia’s campaign for the betterment of the party and the nation.
Furthermore, Annoh-Dompreh commended Catherine Afeku, Sylvester Tetteh, and Mireku Duker, who were lead members of the Alan Kyeremateng campaign, for their courageous decision to publicly declare their support for Bawumia after Alan’s exit from the race. Their endorsement of Bawumia is seen as a significant boost to his campaign, as they bring with them a wealth of experience and influence within the party.
The NPP is currently preparing for its internal elections on 4th November, 2023, where over 200,000 delegates will cast their votes to determine the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 presidential elections.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a seasoned economist and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, has been serving as Vice President since 2017. As the NPP gears up for its internal elections, the support and endorsement of influential party members like Catherine Afeku, Sylvester Tetteh, and Mireku Duker will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the outcome. Their decision to rally behind Bawumia after Alan’s exit demonstrates a growing consensus within the party and highlights Bawumia’s appeal among party members.
With Annoh-Dompreh’s call for an overwhelming 90% vote in favor of Bawumia, the Vice President’s supporters are hopeful that this show of solidarity will propel him to victory in the internal elections.
