In a bid to unseat the current Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Hon Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, Mr Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, has declared his intention to win the seat on December 7, 2024.
During his nomination filing at Beraku in the Awutu Senya West Constituency, Mr Arhin emphasized the need for collective effort, urging the hundreds of party members present to spread the positive message of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
While seeking the support of delegates in the upcoming parliamentary primaries, Mr Arhin appealed for an overwhelming 95% of the votes, expressing his desire for a resounding victory.
However, he also called on his supporters to refrain from engaging in negative campaigning that could tarnish the image of his opponent or her supporters. Mr Arhin stressed the importance of unity among party members to secure a win against the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Supporting Mr Arhin’s candidacy, Rev Abeiku Okai highlighted his track record of accomplishments, stating that “Eugene Arhin gets things done.” He cited the construction of an ultramodern library, office accommodation for the Senya District Police Command, a three-unit classroom block, and successful lobbying for the construction of two major roads in the constituency as evidence of Mr Arhin’s commitment to development.
Rev Okai also praised Mr Arhin’s character, describing him as open, trustworthy, and a leader who genuinely represents the interests of his followers. He expressed his pride in supporting Mr Arhin’s candidacy and commended his accessibility and ability to bring people together.
With the battle for the Awutu Senya West seat heating up, all eyes will be on the upcoming primaries and the campaign strategies of both candidates as they vie for the support of the electorate.
