Ofori Panin Senior High School Allegedly rocked by homosexuality scandal
Ofori Panin Senior High School (OPASS) is in turmoil after four male students were expelled for allegedly engaging in homosexual activities on campus. The school’s disciplinary committee made the decision after conducting an investigation into the claims.
According to sources within the school, the four students were caught practicing homosexual acts during prep time. The news of their expulsion was announced by the school management during a parade, leaving the student body shocked and confused.
“The school authorities called us to announce their dismissal. They said their actions go against the school’s rules and regulations, so they cannot continue as students here,” said some students who witnessed the announcement.
When The Metro Lens Newspaper contacted the Abuakwa North Municipal Director of education, she stated that she has not received any official information about the incident but assured that she will look into the matter as a board member, Mad. Abena Gyamerah, also stated that she is awaiting reports from the school.
In a phone conversation with the headmaster of the school, Mr. Ernest Atwi Gyimah, directed the newspaper to contact the Director of Education for more information. He further mentioned that the school board has yet to convene on the issue and suggested that the media reach out to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for official statements.
The incident has sparked debate among students, parents, and the wider community about the school’s handling of the situation and the issue of homosexuality in schools. As the controversy unfolds, many are calling for a comprehensive approach to address such matters and ensure the well-being and inclusivity of all students.
