The Government of Ghana has confirmed it is investigating reports that a truck carrying Ghanaian tomato traders was caught in a suspected terrorist attack in Titao, Burkina Faso, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, officials said the Ghana Embassy in Ouagadougou is working with Burkinabe authorities to establish the facts and identify any Ghanaians who may have been affected.
The government said it is making urgent efforts to verify information from the scene and will provide updates as soon as details are confirmed. At this time, the number of casualties or injuries has not been verified.
The incident highlights continuing security challenges in parts of northern Burkina Faso, where extremist violence has been recurrent in recent years.
