GoldBod Receives Over $1.7 Million Worth of Seized Gold from NACOC
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has officially handed over 17 gold bars valued at $1.7 million to the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) at the Ministry of the Interior in Accra. The gold bars were confiscated by NACOC’s Upper East Regional Command at the Paga border post from two Burkinabè nationals attempting to smuggle the precious metal out of the country.
The two individuals have been charged with offenses related to gold transportation and dealing. This successful operation underscores NACOC’s commitment to combating gold smuggling and protecting Ghana’s mineral resources.
