Ntim Fordjour Denies Threatening Bloodshed in Akwatia By-Election

Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, has denied allegations of threatening bloodshed in the upcoming Akwatia by-election.

In a statement released on July 29, 2025, Fordjour described the malicious publications circulating on social media as “false and intended to create public disaffection” for him. He emphasized that he has never threatened bloodshed or violence in any election in Ghana.

Fordjour’s Stance on Electoral Violence

The MP reiterated his consistent stance against electoral violence, bloodshed, and clashes during elections. He has previously called on the state to prosecute perpetrators of such offenses to serve as a deterrent and prevent future violence.

Call to Disregard Malicious Publications

Fordjour urged the public to disregard the false publications and treat them with contempt. He also called on the individuals behind the malicious publications to desist from such acts, which can damage the reputation of innocent persons and threaten the peace and stability of the nation.

Fordjour’s statement aims to reassure the public of his commitment to peaceful elections and his respect for the democratic process.
