Ato Forson to steer finance ministry, John Jinapor to Tackle Energy Challenges and Ayine Becomes Attorney General

In accordance with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has submitted his first set of ministerial nominations to the Speaker of Parliament. The nominees, announced by Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Acting Spokesperson to the President, are expected to play key roles in shaping the country’s future.

Meet the Nominees

  • Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson: Minister for Finance Designate Dr. Forson, a seasoned economist and chartered accountant, brings extensive experience in public finance, macroeconomics, and fiscal policy to the table. With a PhD in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and multiple Master’s degrees from renowned institutions, Dr. Forson is well-equipped to steer Ghana’s economy towards growth and prosperity.
  • Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor: Minister for Energy Designate With a strong background in energy economics and finance, Hon. Jinapor is poised to transform Ghana’s energy sector. His impressive academic credentials, including Master’s degrees from the University of Ghana and GIMPA, make him an ideal candidate to drive Ghana’s energy agenda forward.
  • Hon. Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine: Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate A seasoned lawyer with three decades of experience, Dr. Ayine has previously served as Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice. His academic achievements, including a PhD in law from Stanford University, make him a highly qualified candidate to lead Ghana’s justice sector
