We’ll Sack All 2024 Recruits: NDC Issues Stern Warning To Security Personnel
News Desk Report
In a shocking move, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has resolved to initiate a forensic audit and review of all appointments and enlistments into the country’s security services. This decision was taken at a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the NDC on Thursday, November 18, 2024.
According to a memo cited by The Metro Lens Newspaper, the audit will cover all service branches of the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Prison Service, as well as all quasi-security agencies. The audit will focus on enlistments conducted from 2017 to 2024.
The NDC has also resolved to cancel all enlistments currently underway and in training, effective immediately. Trainees will be dismissed and required to return home. This decision is based on the conviction that the enlistments from 2017 to 2024 have been shrouded in opacity, with dire consequences for the peace and stability of the country and the stability of our democracy.
The NDC has described this move as a “necessary cleaning exercise” and has urged its members to work towards securing victory in the upcoming elections, with the hope of getting enlisted into the security services after the audit.
This development has sparked concerns about the potential implications for national security and the stability of the country’s institutions. It remains to be seen how this move will play out in the coming weeks and months.
