News desk report
The former Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) , Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah ( COKA) has stated that unlike former President John Mahama, the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia respects voters .
” Let’s look at the 2 main contenders in this years election, former President mahama and Vice President Bawumia. Which one is respecting voters. It is obviously Dr. Bawumia, that is why he has made it a point to visit every constituency in the country to campaign with his messages of bold solutions to our problems. The former President is not campaigning. He only visit few places and then back to his home. Ghanaians must reward hardwork by voting for Dr. Bawumia to help transform this country .”
COKA who was addressing his constituents on proper voting procedure over the weekend in kumasi, added that democracy is about contest of ideas and not trading of insults and threats.
” l know Ghanaians are peace loving people and so they will prioritise peace and reject the National Democratic Congress( NDC) and their war mongering campaign. “
He used the occasion to educate prospective voters on the proper way of voting with the sole aim of helping to reduce rejected ballots in December Polls.
” Rejected ballots are serious issue for the NPP , especially in kwabre and other places in Ashanti Region . Parliamentary elections are won by a simple majority. Infact in this country we have had a member of parliament who won his seat by just 3 votes . So one rejected vote can make a difference. It is therefore crucial that voters cast their ballots correctly and wisely.”
