Anthony Kwabena Dankwah installed Akyem Akwadumhene (Odikro)

Akyem Akwadum in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area of the Eastern Region has a new chief (Odikro). Ɔdehyeɛ Anthony Kwabena Dankwah, a successful multi-businessman from the Royal Asona family of Akyem Adadientam, was installed as the new Akwadumhene (Odikro) on Monday, 26th August, 2024.

The young chief, believed to be in his early forties, was sworn in during a traditional ceremony attended by the Akwansrahene of Akyem Abuakwa, chiefs from the Ofori Panin Fie, and other dignitaries. As part of the installation process, Ɔdehyeɛ Anthony Kwabena Dankwah swore an oath of allegiance to the Asona Abusuapanin of Akyem Akwadum and other chiefs of Akyem Abuakwa.

Traditionally, the new chief will be referred to by his stool name, Baffour Pobi Asomaning III. The Queen mother of Akyem Adadientam, Akyem Adadientam Bretuo Abusuapanin, sub chiefs from the Adadientam palace and other sub-chiefs from far and near were also present to witness the historic occasion.

The installation of Ɔdehyeɛ Anthony Kwabena Dankwah as the new Akwadumhene (Odikro) marks a new era for the people of Akyem Akwadum, and it is expected that his leadership will bring development and prosperity to the area.
