Yilo Krobo MCE Urges Unity for Development

The Yilo Krobo Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Eric Tetteh, has called on the people to come together and play their respective roles in advancing the development agenda of the area.

Speaking at the Yilo Krobo State Homecoming Summit held in Somanya Akutunya, Mr. Tetteh emphasized that divisions among the people have been slowing down progress. He urged the chiefs and the people to prioritize the growth of the area and bury their differences in order to live in harmony.

The MCE stated that it was time for the municipal assembly, Yilo Krobo state, individuals, and organizations to partner and undertake strategic investments and projects that would promote socio-economic growth and accelerate development in the area.

Mr. Tetteh stressed the importance of unity and peace, as conflicts only breed divisions and hinder development. He highlighted the partnership between the assembly, Yilo State, and individuals in refurbishing the Akutunya lorry station with pavement blocks, which now also serves as a durbar ground. Additionally, the assembly has partnered with individuals to refurbish schools, with the aim of enhancing the quality of education provided in the area.

The MCE acknowledged the vital role that education plays in developing creative minds and preparing society for a future full of innovation. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the tools, resources, and potential that technology offers in order to drive development.

Nene Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaa Sasraku II, the Yilo Krobo state overlord, commended the assembly, the lorry station paving committee, and the individuals who supported the projects. He appealed to the government and individuals to continue supporting the development of the area.

Nene Oklepeme also expressed his gratitude to the MCE for assisting the community in paving the lityorry station to protect it from adverse weather conditions. He commended the committee for their commitment to the development of the lorry station.

Furthermore, the Chief urged the MCE and the Member of Parliament for the area to use their lobbying skills to ensure that all roads leading to the municipal area are fixed. He emphasized that the area serves as a major food basket in the Eastern Region and having well-maintained roads would contribute to a thriving economy.

The Chief concluded by commending the assembly for the various projects, including the renovated schools, and requested that the MCE and the MP continue their efforts to improve the overall development of the municipal area.
