Cheddar In Numerous Tax Evasion Scandals

Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has become embroiled in a series of tax evasion scandals, revealing a blatant disregard for state regulations and the advancement of the nation.

Insiders from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) have revealed that between 2013 and 2016, Cheddar failed to file his personal income tax returns, resulting in a penalty of GH¢50,000.00 imposed by the GRA.

In addition, for the years 2021 to 2022, the GRA issued estimated assessments of GH¢2,088,228 and GH¢5,096,536 to Mr. Bediako. However, he neglected to file his taxes, leading to further penalties imposed by the GRA.

Despite his reputation for acquiring luxurious vehicles, establishing multiple companies, and making significant gifts and donations, the GRA has stated that the sources of income supporting Cheddar’s extravagant lifestyle have not been disclosed to the Commissioner-General.

A breakdown of his tax penalties for failing to file tax returns reveals fines of GHS15,222.00 in 2013, GHS14,492 in 2014, GHS13,760 in 2015, and GHS6,526 in 2016.

According to GRA sources, apart from the years 2018 to 2020 when Mr. Bediako filed his personal income tax returns, he has consistently evaded taxes, raising serious concerns about his integrity.

Cheddar has often boasted about his achievements and made promises to foster a nation of entrepreneurs. In a recent television interview, the New Force leader claimed to have amassed his first one million pounds sterling at the age of 21. He emphasized the urgent need for Ghana’s transformation and presented his New Force as the catalyst for change. However, doubts have emerged about how someone who habitually violates tax laws can be trusted to lead a transformative movement.
