Palgrave Sends 78-Year-Old Mum, Gladys Awura Adwoa Warewaa Twum-Barima, Home

Accra, Ghana – The funeral arrangements for Madam Gladys Awura Adwoa Warewaa Twum-Barima, mother of Palgrave Frimpong Boakye-Danquah, the government’s spokesperson on Governance and Security, have been completed. The 78-year-old passed away on August 18 after a short illness.
The solemn ceremony began with a viewing of the late Madam Twum-Barima at the Transition Funeral Home in Haatso, Accra, on Friday. The memorial service and final funeral rites also took place on the same day at the same venue. However, the interment itself was a private event held in Kyebi, the hometown of the deceased.
On Sunday, October 15, a thanksgiving service was held at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana – Joy Congregation in Ashongman to honor Madam Twum-Barima’s life and legacy.
Madam Twum-Barima leaves behind four children, including Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, who is currently vying for the Abuakwa North New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate position.
Born on April 23, 1945, in Accra, Madam Twum-Barima began her education at Accra New Town Experimental Primary School before continuing her studies at Swedru Secondary School (SWESCO). She excelled academically, particularly in the arts and humanities, and was known for her talent in hockey.
After completing her secondary education, Madam Twum-Barima worked for the State Insurance Corporation (SIC) for twenty years in the Accident and Motor Department. She was highly regarded for her professionalism and friendly nature. Additionally, she worked as a Nursing Assistant while living in the United States with her late husband.
Madam Twum-Barima was a devout Christian and an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana – Joy Congregation. She was one of the founding members of the Women’s Fellowship at the church and participated in various church activities until her health declined.
In a heartfelt tribute, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah expressed his gratitude for his mother’s love and guidance throughout his life. He reminisced about the life lessons she taught him, the moments they shared at the dining table, and her unwavering faith in God. Palgrave credited his mother for shaping him into the person he is today and acknowledged her prayers and support during challenging times.
As the funeral proceedings concluded, Palgrave bid farewell to his beloved mother, knowing that her spirit would continue to watch over him. He expressed his confidence in God’s guidance as he enters the next phase of his life.
The late Madam Gladys Awura Adwoa Warewaa Twum-Barima will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong faith, and her contributions to the community. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
