EDITORIAL: Arrest Kennedy Agyapong for Threatening President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia

The recent threats made by Kennedy Agyapong, a flag bearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), towards President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are deeply concerning and should not be taken lightly. Such behavior undermines the principles of democracy and the rule of law that our nation holds dear.

In a phone call at a voting center in the Central Region, Agyapong swore by the name of God and threatened to give a “showdown” to both President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia. He alleged that his polling agent was chased out of a polling center during the NPP presidential race.

These threats are not only disrespectful but also dangerous. They create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, which has no place in our democratic society.
