NADMO Office Attacked in Accra

A group of unidentified individuals, allegedly supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), attacked the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) office in Kanda, Accra, on Monday morning. The attackers, described as thugs, surrounded the office complex and demanded that everyone vacate the premises.

According to an eyewitness, a staff member who witnessed the attack, “The office has been surrounded by thugs, and I don’t know where they’re from. They are harassing everyone.” The employee claimed that such incidents occur every time there is a change in government, with NADMO officers being attacked without reason. “We came to work this morning, and now the whole place is under siege,” they added.

The staff member took refuge in one of the offices to report the incident, stating, “I had to hide in an office to call you. They’ve taken over the front of our building, and there are a lot of them.” The attackers reportedly demanded that the office be vacated and the keys to the facility be handed over.

This incident comes amidst tensions following the recent elections. The NDC has previously condemned violence, as seen in their statement regarding the assault on a CitiFM/TV reporter ¹. However, the party’s leadership has not yet commented on this specific incident.
